Την πούλησαν για νύφη στα 12 της και απο τότε η Sahar Gul ζούσε στο σπίτι της φρίκης. Όταν αρνήθηκε να εκπορνευθεί για χάρη των πεθερών της, την έδεσαν με αλυσίδες στο υπόγειο, τη χτυπούσαν με καυτούς σιδερένιους σωλήνες, την άφηναν νηστική και της ξερίζωσαν όλα της τα νύχια. Η τιμωρία των δραστών περιορίστηκε στην ελάχιστη προβλεπόμενη ποινή ,τη φυλάκιση ενός έτους και τώρα είναι και πάλι ελεύθεροι! Ακόμη χειρότερα, η Κάτω Βουλή του Κοινοβουλίου μόλις πέρασε ένα νομοσχέδιο που θα απαγορεύει στα μέλη της οικογένειας των δραστών να καταθέτουν στο δικαστήριο.... Αυτό θα κάνει ακόμα πιο δύσκολο για αμέτρητα παιδιά και γυναίκες να διεκδικήσουν το δίκιο τους.
Έχουμε μόνο λίγες ημέρες για να σταματήσουμε αυτή την επίθεση στα δικαιώματα των γυναικών.... Η Άνω Βουλή έχει αποκρούσει και παλαιότερα αντίστοιχες μισογυνικές νομοθεσίες και υψηλού επιπέδου αξιωματούχοι λένε ότι το κίνημα του Avaaz μπορεί να φέρει τα πάνω-κάτω και να βοηθήσει στο να σταματήσει το νομοσχέδιο προτού εκείνο πάει στη Βουλή για ψηφοφορία.
